  • How did you get started in your career?

I studied PR in university but my early years were spent in bid management for construction and engineering firms. From there, a startup b2b software company took a chance on me and I found my home when I got to dabble in everything from marketing communications to PR and sales. I love helping companies find their identity and get excited when my work influences a buyer, a customer interaction or a product feature.

  • What are you responsible for at Impact Reporting?

Anything that impacts our customer or prospect experience falls under my remit.  My role in growth marketing is more than just promoting our software and services, it’s about helping the business flourish and disrupt our market.

  • What inspired you to enter this field?

I am a first-generation Indian Muslim, raised in Boston, Massachusetts. My parents didn’t speak English, were poor and struggled to acclimate to a new country, but firmly believed the move here would open more doors for their girls. Having grown up as a beneficiary of many social initiatives, I am a living example of how much of an impact this type of support can have on one person’s life.

  • What gets you up in the morning?

Usually snuggles and the chatter of my son. That, plus knowing I’m doing good work, and that all the winds and bends in my life story have landed me exactly where I need (and want!) to be.

  • 3 memorable career achievements?

    1. Being a self-taught marketer
    2. Successfully launching six websites with new branding – and how many of them have been acquired since!
    3. Propelling an old-fashioned software company into the digital age and how it changed the trajectory of the business
  • Top 3 loves?

    1. Cooking
    2. Biryani
    3. Old friends
  • My favourite city in the world to visit would be...

Well, I love that dirty water: Boston.

  • Outside of work you can find me...

Spending quality time with my husband and little boy, reading a good book, or dragging them out to try a new restaurant.
