  • Can you describe your professional background as an Economist

As a senior economist at Impact Reporting, my role involves analysing economic data and preparing detailed reports for social valuation projects, as well as consulting on impact measurement strategies.

Much of my research is on social impact measurement, with a focus on wellbeing. During and after my PhD in Economics, I worked in research and teaching roles at universities in Turkey and the UK.

  • What are you responsible for at Impact Reporting?

Currently, I conduct economic research for impact value analysis and measurement, providing consultancy support alongside Catherine Manning to clients through our impact practice. I analyse client’s data and prepare reports for social valuation projects.

Additionally, I contribute to MeasureUp, focused on advancing and refining impact measurement and valuation through state-of-the-art economic research and providing training and consultancy

  • What inspired you to enter this field?

I inspired by the unique ability of economics to explain social phenomena through mathematics. Economics enables us to analyse complex concepts like utility and well-being using precise mathematical tools, such as differentiation.

One of my most significant achievements is completing my PhD in Economics, which required extensive research and a deep understanding of complex economic theories and methodologies.

Impact measurement allows me to use these skills to assess and enhance the positive and negative effects of activities, projects, or organisations on communities and the environment. The ability to quantify and manage real-world impacts makes this area incredibly motivating for me.
