  • How did you get started in your career?

I started out in tech after I was headhunted by a tech magazine in my early teens and wrote for them, before going on to work on coding projects and websites. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak – I got detention for running a tuck shop on the school bus – and loved volunteering. So, becoming a social entrepreneur in tech happened by accident, nearly 20 years ago.

  • What are you responsible for at Impact Reporting?

I’m a real social impact geek, so I help our clients with how they can deliver and measure social impact. I also help shape the product to ensure it’s the easiest-to-use social value measurement platform out there.

  • What inspired you to enter this field?

I’ve always had a sense that making the world a bit better than I found it was the most interesting thing so that, plus being a dab-hand with computers when I was little, inspired me into this field.

  • What gets you up in the morning?

Getting to work with amazing people making a difference, within my social enterprises, but also in our client organisations.

  • 3 memorable career achievements?

    1. Designing and publishing the BBC’s first CSR report digitally.
    2. Succeeding as an entrepreneur, shows you can do well by doing good.
    3. Supporting global companies and famous celebrities to make a difference with digital.
  • Top 3 loves?

    1. Music and gigs
    2. Dogs
    3. Social impact economics (sorry, not sorry 🤓)

  • Outside of work you can find me...

On the canal boat I’m renovating, moored up by some woods with my hammock in the trees.
